Your adventure begins with a morning departure from Marrakech, crossing the majestic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260m). Stop at the famous UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a stunning fortress featured in many Hollywood movies. After exploring the site, continue to Ouarzazate, known as the “Gateway to the Sahara.” Visit the Atlas Film Studios and Taourirt Kasbah before heading to Dades Valley for an overnight stay in a traditional guesthouse.
After breakfast, journey through the Dades Valley’s winding roads and head to Todgha Gorge, a breathtaking canyon where towering rock walls rise 300 meters. Enjoy a walk along the gorge before continuing to Merzouga. Upon arrival, switch to camelback for an unforgettable sunset trek into the Erg Chebbi dunes. Reach your desert camp, where a warm Berber welcome, dinner, and traditional music under the stars await.
Start the day with a mesmerizing desert sunrise. After breakfast, explore the surrounding area, including the village of Khamlia, known for its Gnaoua music. Visit nomadic families, explore fossil sites, and witness the striking contrast of the black desert near the volcanic rocks of Erfoud. Return to your camp for another night under the starry sky.
Bid farewell to the dunes and head towards the rocky landscapes of Alnif, passing through fascinating desert scenery. Stop for lunch along the way before reaching Zagora, a peaceful oasis town famous for its palm groves and the starting point of ancient caravan routes to Timbuktu. Overnight in a riad or local hotel.
After breakfast, visit Tamegroute to explore its ancient library and pottery workshops. Continue to M’hamid, the last village before the vast Sahara begins. From here, set off on another camel trek to the remote and untouched Erg Chigaga dunes, where you’ll enjoy a magical sunset, dinner, and campfire Berber songs.
Wake up early to witness the sunrise over the expansive dunes. After breakfast, journey through the dry Lake Iriqui, a stark and beautiful landscape, before arriving at Foum Zguid. Stop for a relaxing lunch before continuing to Ouarzazate. Spend the night in a comfortable riad or hotel.
On the final day, enjoy breakfast before heading back to Marrakech through the scenic High Atlas Mountains. Along the way, stop at local villages and viewpoints for photos. Arrive in Marrakesh in the late afternoon, marking the end of your unforgettable 7 days Marrakech desert tour.
